A Word From Our Mayor.
Greetings, citizens of Pinehurst. This is a message from your mayor, Margaret E. Brown. I would like to start off with a thank you, for both your everlasting support and trust in me as the head of this town. Pinehurst is blessed with a rich history, a vibrant present, and most importantly, a wonderful community. Together, we have weathered many challenges and overcome them with valor, and I have no doubt that we will only continue to do so in the future.
As we look ahead, there is much to be excited about in the coming months. Our beloved town is always growing and evolving, yet maintains its unplausible charm. That is why I am proud to call Pinehurst my home, and I hope that you are too. Only we can make Pinehurst a wonderful place to live, work and play in.
Remember, small town, big dreams!
What is Pinehurst?
Hi there! Pinehurst is a short-run, slice of life roleplay group set in 1999. It's also set in Idaho, courtesy of my fellow Idahoans who made this a reality. This group, while horrifically mundane at its core, runs on tropes found in sitcoms of the era with a sprinkle of self-awareness. Did you just hear a live studio audience applaud? Must've just been your hearing. Pinehurst invites you to take any routes you deem sensible, even if corny. As we're in proximity (but not quite!) with both the 1980's and 2000's, you're allowed to dip into either decade within reason (He-ello schlocky horror and wire-fu!). Pinehurst's setting is inherently flexible, and you are free to contribute however you like!
As a citizen or a visitor of Pinehurst, you'll be allowed to craft locations, host events, and generally mess around with other characters to your heart's content. Hopefully, Pinehurst will run a single season, with a couple of events (dubbed episodes) interspersed over the months. These events can span group-wide, or focus on a handful of characters at a time. Again, to reiterate— This group is invite only.
Thank you for reading, your interest is appreciated! I’ve had a blast putting this together!
How Does Applying Work?
Pinehurst’s application process will be done through a Google Form, in which individuals may apply for an invite to the Discord server. This is reserved for people I know! Upon touching down in the server, you’ll have a chance to settle down and create an application for your character! You will only be required to provide a bust of your character, alongside a short written portion for others to understand the gist of your Pinehurst resident (or visitor!).
I intend to keep the nature of Pinehurst moderately sized, as I am doing this as a personal project and am a one-mod team. This may change in the future. All accepted members will be allowed to invite or otherwise ‘vouch for’ other individuals. Depending on how many are invited, invites may be limited or restricted periodically, but this rule is lax.
